Notes: Now for something completely different. We are excited to present a vibrant and unique coffee from Burundi. This coffee comes to us from northern Burundi neighboring Rwanda, where a hillside named Gakenke is home for just over a hundred farmers that cultivate Bourbon coffee plants. It is a serious challenge to farm, process, transport and receive fair payment for your coffee in Burundi. We are glad to invest in them directly and bypass the corruption among mills and exporters that is commonplace in Burundi. In the cup, we get a light-medium body, medium-high acidity, stone fruit and baked fruit aromatics. Nectarine and peach-like qualities sing when hot, cooling with silky apple and baking spice notes.
All orders are roasted Tuesday-Wednesday and shipped on Thursday.
