This coffee is a collaboration between locally acclaimed producers John Torres and Maria Bercelia. Maria especially has a reputation for producing high quality lots while empowering and educating the community around her. They provided us with a balanced cup with medium sweetness and acidity. We got notes of papaya, apricot, orange, nectarine, butterscotch, nougat, cocoa, black currant and Curaçao, a liqueur flavored with the dried peel of the Laraha citrus fruit, grown on the island of Curaçao. Sweet, syrupy and elegant, it’s a solid cup with or without milk.
